You’ve asked me a few questions, so I’ll do my best to answer all of them here.

“So, can we get some more personal insight into post-apocalypse Link as a character?”

Link has always been a sort of everyman to me. He’s never really been in a position of power or influence until fate sends him on his way. I wanted to reflect his humble upbringing in his designs; chemical worker, police officer, unremarkable civilian. I sort of pictured him doing his job in the chem factory when the catastrophe happened; things explode, people panic. Link wakes up to find himself surrounded by rubble. He’s cold, so he takes contents of the factory locker room, among them a rugged green poncho. Monsters have overrun the area now, so he needs to defend himself; he crafts a rickety weapon from whatever materials he can find, rusted steel sheets and a handheld vice. For a while, his only goal is to survive.

“What exactly is Zelda’s role in the story? If Ganon rules, then what does she do? “

Ganondorf’s endgoal is to find the triforce, and to that end he seizes power by taking control of Hyrule Castle. Zelda is forced to flee, narrowly escaping capture, and she settles in an unknown part of the wastes where she concocts a plan to retake her throne and save her kingdom. She realizes she cannot possibly reclaim the castle by herself, so she sets out to find people to aid her cause. This is where she stumbles upon Link.

“So what would be the balance for magic vs technology? Like, wold Ganondorf become Ganon using some of that next-to-nonextistent magic you talked about, or would he mutate himself using chemicals, or something?”

Ganondorf probably still has some command of dark magic, but with the advent of modern technology, he’d probably only use it in dire circumstances, i.e. the final face-off with Link.

“Also, have you considered designing a scrapped-up motorcycle for Link to ride around on?”

I had originally planned to design 3P0N4, Link’s trusty hog, but ultimately it was cut due to time constraints.
