urbanassassin asked: wow man, i must say your vision of the bleak future hyrule is quite stunning. However i do have one criticism It seems to me that Zelda herself is a bet to tomboyish or manly. To fit in with the lore, she is supposed to be princess Zelda after all, which denotes some level of elegance. From a story aspect, maybe she could hail from a human settlement that is well off in comparison to the others. besides that excellent work, but tell me do you have a story in mind?
I’ve been getting a number of comments about manly Zelda, so I figure I’ll just address that here.
Before I say anything else, I will admit that female faces are not my strong point. They definitely need work. That said, Zelda being a bit more muscular and tomboyish is intentional. She’s been forced to live, possibly alone, in the wasteland, where her survival depends entirely on herself. The surviving scrap of her royal gown is wrapped around her arm. Her crown is jilted off to one side to indicate her fall from power. She is no longer a princess in the authoritative sense of the word. Becoming leaner and more muscular is simply the effect of training with a bow. You definitely need some muscle to comfortably pull back the bowstring, and this version of Zelda reflects her extended stay in the wastes with a bit more upper-arm strength.
And that’s my thought process on the matter. I understand it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s my personal favourite concept. I do like all the other versions presented, though, unless people think they’re all manly as well, in which case I have messed up quite badly.
I hope that clears up any doubts on why I chose that particular version. Different strokes for different folks, and all that.
